that zesty fellow This is excellent future-retro alt-rock neo-prog indie fuzz-pop of very high quality. The recent year or so has seen an incredible return to form for Mr C, (not that he ever really lost it, of course!). Lockdown truly seems to have brought out the best in him!
Black Cat is exceptional - the best thing that SC has done in years. Sweet subtly discordant tunefulness a-go-go!
One of my favourite songs of the year so far!

Some day, when I'm awful low When the world is cold I’ll feel aglow thinking of you And the way you look tonight You're lovely, with your smile so warm And your cheeks so soft There is nothing but to love you And the way you look tonight The skies outside are biblical The solar storms and flares are cyclical You know I know it feels heretical To say the situation’s critical The people moan the people whimper so The cities, rubble strewn and so it goes Yes you’re lovely, never ever change With your breathless charm There is nothing left but love dear Tear my fear apart You’re Lovely Just the way you are... The people sad and cynical Their aims and actions criminal All thoughts of peace are whimsical The only hope is metaphysical Your cheek so soft, your hair is driven snow Your breathless smile, the wrinkles of your nose Yes you’re lovely (The skies outside are biblical) With your smile so warm (The solar storms and flares are cyclical) There is nothing but to love you (The people sad and cynical) And the way you look tonight (A day like this is typical)

Look at all the cyberorganisms won’t ya? Take a look around and see them Don’t you know? Don’t ya know they're gonna get into our heads And when we let ‘em in we’ll be them? Yeah we will. All the little neurons firing at each other Firing at the big computer In the sky In the sky the data saving it for later Saved - to bring you back forever Living like a cyberorganism, we are Thinking with a kinda hive-mind Namaste Namaste to every one around the world Is heard - it only takes a second It only takes a second You can be a cyberorganism, will ya? You can hook into your mobile Give it up Give it up to algorithmic thought you oughta Wow! - it's gonna make ya better Open up your head and weave a little chip in Add yourself into the network Do it now! Do it so you’re really tuned into the world You know - You’re ready for the future You’re ready for the future!

Baby Jeezus 03:14
Who's that knocking at the window? Who's that ringing at the bell? Who's that rapping on the shutters? Baby Jesus, can't you tell? Who's that hanging in the garden? Who’s that swinging from the tree? Who's that ringing on the doorbell? Who’s that waiting at the gate? Who’s that tapping on his wristwatch? Baby Jesus, don’t be late! Who’s that sitting by the dustbins? Who’s that hiding from the wind? Who’s bringing you a Bible, baby? Jesus, Let him in! Who’s been sleeping on the pavement? Who’s been waiting in a queue? Who’s been very very patient? Baby Jesus, here for you! Who’s been hanging out for ages? So they can hang out with you? Who’s that heading for the rooftop? Who’s that shinning up the eaves? Who’s that coming down the chimney? Baby Jesus, soon you’ll see! Who’s that looking kinda grumpy? Who’s that rolling up his sleeves? Who’s calling you a sinner baby? Jesus, best believe! Who’s that looking kinda grumpy? Who’s that rolling up his sleeves Who’s calling you a sinner, baby? Jesus, just believe!

There's a man with a headache sitting in the bed Pillow time behind him eyes are rolling red Itches all about him scratching at his head Listening for silence but can hear his heart instead Staring at the blackness inside of his lids Wonders what he’s gonna tell the wife and tell the kids Darkness moves around him colours kinda creep Ganging up and gathering - will not let him sleep. There's a man with a reason - black cat is his reason Oh the black cat stares back Tries to stop his thinking - thinking anyway Tries to shake the past and make the present go away Tries to block it out to try to fall into a slumber Universe, he knows, has got his name and got his number Thinks about the future - there is nothing in it Each tick of the clock it seems to take about a minute Black cat jumps and joins him, stares into his soul Every meow seems to tell him ‘life without parole’.

Shells 04:03
Shells Flying high Singing in the ether Meting out - morning greeting Song Heavy bass Focused on percussion Tumble down - village school and meeting hall Mother Help us to breathe please Struggle arms Rubble crushes Sweet light comes to some Shells Raining down Usual for the season Full of stars - righteous lightning Gifts Wrapped with bows Messages from senders Sent with love - melting hearts and faces too Mother Help us to breathe please Crumpled farms Houses flattened Sleep will come to all
